ABOUT
I have been working in the marketing, design and communications field for more than 20 years - starting as a public relations intern in the college relations office of my alma mater, Winthrop University.
I had a long career with The Post and Courier newspaper working in a variety of creative positions leaving to start my own business, Julie Nocida Creative LLC. My career has spanned from being a production artist knocking out quick designs on tight deadlines, to a creative manager leading every stage of the process. I have multimedia experience creating across diverse platforms: print, digital, email, signage, even the side of a bus. Today, I appreciate any creative challenge, large or small, and always relish the opportunity to learn new things.
I came to Charleston, S.C. to work for the Catholic Diocese of Charleston and its statewide weekly newspaper, The Catholic Miscellany in its communications office. I served as Associate Editor of the paper and Special Projects and Publications Manager. I worked at Ashley Hall School as Communications Manager before joining The Post and Courier as an Advertising Designer
I am a native of Kentucky but have spent nearly all of my life in South Carolina. I am a big sports fan -- especially the Clemson Tigers, the Atlanta Falcons, and our own South Carolina Stingrays. I love living near the coast in a city that has a national reputation and lots of fun and unique things to do and a beautiful natural environment to explore.
I share my home with three cats (Indigo, Cooper and Santee) all rescues. I am an animal lover and birdwatcher, a Conservation Steward with the South Carolina Aquarium and Guardian with the Charleston Animal Society.
